From Zero to Egg

Hi everyone,

My name is Atchara and I am from Bangkok, Thailand. I was a housewife with a lovely husband and we are blessed to have 2 kids. I started off making eggs when my kids turned to be teenagers (and started to have their own social world). I remembered there was one free afternoon that I went to the mall for a walk as usual that I bumped into the egg art school. It might sound exaggerating but I think there was a certain magic from the egg thats drew my feet into that school.

That day changed my life forever. Right now, I become a full-time artist owning my egg art gallery in Bangkok and people visit me from around the world! But this is not what I'm proud of the most. The most pride I derive from my work is that I helped many lives of poor farmer, artists, and families to earn their second income.

I purchase non-fertilized eggs from farms all over Thailand. These eggs are pretty much useless for these farmers so they are very happy when I see the value of their eggs and purchase from them. I make most of the eggs myself with the help of about 10 part-time artists who rotate into my house when they are free from their work to help me work on several stuffs like making the moulded-paper box, stitching the cloth, grinding the stone to form paint. Those who are skillful enough will even help me create the work.

My gallery was selected by the government campaign "OTOP" (One Tumbon One Product) as a featured product of my neighboorhood area on Silom Road. The government arrange an occasional roadshow to countries around the world and this gives me opportunity to travel to many places I never imagined I would have a chance to visit! And right now, through the assistance of my business partners, Belle and May, I am so happy to announce that we have our first online store to reach out to the international community on Etsy under the name "EggsR'Us". All of our eggs that we sell on etsy.com are handmade by us. If you are interested in seeing eggs made by my apprentices please email me and I will provide you with more images.
